Educational and other qualifications required

Essential Qualification & Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education (B.P.Ed./B.P.E.) from a recognized University/Institution.
• Master's Degree in Physical Education (M.P.Ed.) from a recognized University/Institution.
• Minimum two (02) years of experience in sports coaching, physical education, sports administration, or related activities in a recognized educational institution.

Desirable Qualification

• Participation at Inter-University, State, National, or International level sports competitions.
• Certification in coaching from recognized sports bodies such as the Sports Authority of India or equivalent.
• Proficiency in computer applications related to sports administration and record management.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct physical education classes, fitness programmes, and sports training sessions for female students.
• Organize and supervise sports activities, tournaments, competitions, and recreational programmes for female students.
• Provide coaching and guidance to students participating in Inter-Hostel, Inter-Departmental, Inter-University, State, and National level competitions.
• Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of annual sports events and other extracurricular activities.
• Ensure discipline, safety, and proper utilization of sports facilities and equipment by female students.
• Promote health, fitness, and wellness awareness among students through regular training and outreach programmes.
• Maintain records relating to student participation, sports achievements, inventory of sports equipment, and related activities.
• Coordinate with hostel authorities and student bodies regarding sports and physical fitness programmes for female students.
• Assist in talent identification and development of female athletes.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Institute authorities from time to time in connection with sports, physical education, and student welfare activities.

1. The appointment shall be governed by the UGC Regulations and the Norms of BIT Mesra.
2. The Institute reserves the right to relax eligibility criteria in exceptional cases with the approval of the Competent Authority.
