Educational and other qualifications required/ Experience

Essential:

• BSc/BA in safety management, engineering or a relevant field is preferred or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Technology or equivalent qualification in Safety Management from a recognized institution.
• Certification/Diploma in Industrial Safety approved by Government regulatory bodies.
• Knowledge of Statutory Safety Regulations, Compliance Requirements, and Institutional Safety standards.

Desirable:

Minimum of 5–7 years of professional experience in safety management across diverse domains including:

• Fire Safety – prevention, drills, and emergency response.
• Chemical Safety – handling, storage, and disposal protocols.
• Laser Safety – monitoring and compliance with laboratory standards.
• Knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices
• Experience in writing reports and policies for health and safety

  Medical & Occupational Safety –

• First Aid, Workplace Health, and Risk Mitigation.
• Proven record of implementing Safety Audits, Training Programs, and Compliance Documentation.
• Ability to coordinate with multiple departments and external agencies for safety enforcement.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor institutional safety policies.
• Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and compliance reporting.
• Organize training sessions, awareness programs, and emergency drills
• Ensure adherence to statutory norms and institutional safety standards.
• Act as the nodal officer for safety-related communication and incident management.
