M.A. in Liberal Arts
Programme Objective:
The program is designed to develop critically informed, interdisciplinary graduates who can draw on the resources of cultural studies, philosophy, sociology, psychology, sustainability studies, information science, media, digital humanities, and AI-related inquiry to analyze and address contemporary challenges of a globalized world. The program aims to cultivate conceptual and analytical abilities; methodological rigor across hermeneutic, qualitative, and quantitative approaches; and a high degree of ethical, social, cultural, and environmental awareness. Emphasis is placed on enabling students to translate humanistic and social-scientific insight into applied research, policy-relevant analysis, and context-sensitive interventions in domains such as creative industries, education and pedagogy, social work, public sector, environmental initiatives, and AI ecosystems, thereby preparing them for diverse academic and professional trajectories at the interface of humanities, society, and technology.
Programme Outcomes:
PO1: Analyze contemporary cultural, social, technological, and environmental issues by integrating concepts and frameworks from diverse disciplines.
PO2: Identify ethical dilemmas and sustainability concerns in socio-technical and cultural contexts, and articulate reasoned responses.
PO3: Formulate research questions and employ appropriate research methods, including basic data handling and the use of information systems.
PO4: Translate theoretical understanding into context-sensitive interventions and assess their effectiveness using suitable indicators and feedback.
PO5: Foster interdisciplinary collaborations and demonstrate preparedness for diverse academic and sectoral roles at the interface of humanities, society, and technology.
