Birla Institute of Technology (BIT) Mesra invites applications from Indian Nationals, possessing excellent professional credentials and commitment, and zeal for administrative excellence, for the following positions at Mesra campus in Ranchi.

Important Note for all Applicants:

  1. Only candidates who are shortlisted after initial screening of all applications by a peer committee will be called for interview.
  2. Initial appointment will be for one year (on contract), extendable on satisfactory performance.
  3. Applicants for higher position but found ineligible / unsuitable may be considered for lower posts.

Responsibilities:

  • Primary activity is to ensure that achievements of the Institute and its stakeholders including faculty, staff, students and alumni are communicated to the outside world in a timely and effective manner for improving the perception of Institute.

 

  • Coordinate the development, drafting, and editing of news releases, media advisories and announcements for distribution to the news media to publicize the institute, its faculty, students, staff, and their programs, activities and research.
  • Act as a Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for replying to media queries consistently, thereby ensuring projection of the institute among the public in the best possible manner.

 

  • Review any content to be published on the Institute website.

 

  • Maintain the Institute’s official blog and social media handles, ensuring the consistent use of branding across various media.

 

  • Maintain records of media coverage including photo and video assets and collate analytics and metrics of the same.

 

  • Write regular articles on our Institute academics, various programs, research, facilities, industry collaboration etc.

 

  • Create print material such as brochures, posters and flyers.
  • Liaisoning with funding agencies and   concerned authorities.
  • Develop growth strategies and plans.

Master’s in Computer Application or Equivalent. Preference shall be given to candidates with a regular degree.

 

Experience:

Minimum 3 years’ experience in relevant field.

 

Skills required:

  • Proficient in deploying and maintaining large web-based software systems.
  • Well versed in the use of HTML, CSS, Front end programming using open source stacks and deploying them on servers e.g. IIS/ Apache etc. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel.
  • The candidate should be confident in working with relational databases e.g. writing SQL queries of medium to high complexity, designing conceptual schemas, tuning databases for efficiency etc.
  • Advanced knowledge in at least one of the following programming languages - Java, Python, Asp. NET Core. Preference shall be given to individuals having knowledge of maintaining educational ERP systems.
