M. Tech..: Selected on the basis of valid GATE score. Non-Gate applicants will get a chance if seats are not filled-up by GATE qualified candidates. In this case Non-Gate candidates need to qualify written test and viva-voce conducted by BIT, Mesra at Mesra campus.

Ph.D.: Entrance test is conducted at Mesra Campus for Ph.D. aspirants. Candidates are required to obtain minimum qualifying marks.

The specializations offered in the ECE department are:

• Instrumentation Engineering (12 Seats)
• Microwave Engineering (18 Seats)
• Wireless Communication (18 Seats)

Mentorship program is followed for every batch that is admitted in ECE department. Every faculty member is allotted 12-15 students admitted in ECE, BIT. All issues regarding academics, food & lodging can be discussed and resolved through mentors allotted to every student.

Presently, there are 120 seats in B. Tech Program.

M.Tech. Instrumentation Engineering Program has 12 sanctioned seats

Yes, department assists in Industrial Training of students in various industries like BARC, Indian Railways, BSNL, HAL, ISRO etc. Internship opportunity is also available to the students, both through the department and through the Training & Placement office of the institute. 

Students have been placed in various reputed organisations like Accenture, Amadeus, Amazon, Axis Bank, Capgemini, Cognizant, Infosys, Intel, KPMG, Mahindra & Mahindra, Musigma , PWC, Reliance Jio, Samsung, Stellium, Tata Communication, TATA Steel, Wipro Turbo to name a few. 

No, at present we are not providing any lateral entry and students have to enrol themselves in Ist semester only.
