The Immersive Summer Research Experience (ISRE) program was started in 2017 at Illinois Institute of Technology-Chicago. Under this program, BIT Mesra students come to reputable US universities such as Illinois Institute of Technology-Chicago, Carnegie Mellon University-Pittsburg, Georgia Institute of Technology-Atlanta, NorthEastern University –Boston, Virginia Tech University – Pittsburg and New Jersey Institute of Technology – NewJersey. Since 2017, 50+ BITM students have participated in this program. After a pause in 2020 and 2021 due to Covid, BIT Mesra students will resume coming to U.S. during summer of 2022 for the ISRE program at multiple U.S. universities.
