Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra (Deemed to be University) is inviting applications from bright, qualified, and experienced candidates for recruitment to the post of Assistant Engineer (on Contract) at BIT Off Campus - Jaipur.

Educational Qualification and Experience

Essential -

Graduation in Civil Engineering from reputed Institute with minimum relevant work experience of 8 years.

OR

Diploma in Civil Engineering from reputed Institute with minimum relevant work experience of 10 years.

Experience:

  • Intense and varied proven successful field experience in civil construction as site engineer for infrastructure projects (buildings, MEPF, roads, sewerage etc.).
  • Substantial experience in RCC, steel and masonry large-scale constructions.
  • Thorough understanding and experience of estimation, tendering, contracting.
  • Work in collaboration with seniors and site engineers.
  • Successful record in contract and contractor handling, negotiations, arbitrations.
  • Substantial knowledge of latest materials, techniques, specifications, rates etc related to construction industry
  • Dynamic, pro-active and necessarily field-oriented

Software skills: AutoCAD, Excel, Word, MS Project / Primavera.

* Note: - Candidates who do not have adequate experience and competence will not be shortlisted or selected.

Key Responsibilities

 
  • Construction supervision at site
  • Construction stage planning
  • Coordination with Electrical, Water supply, Networking and other related departments.
  • Regular monitoring of projects timeline & cost.
  • Prepare estimates for the projects.
  • Resolve site issues related to construction.
  • Checking quality & workmanship.

  1. Before applying, an applicant should read the complete advertisement carefully and ensure that he/she fulfils the minimum eligibility criteria of the post stated in the advertisement in all respects as on the last date for receipt of applications
  2.   4. Applicants will be interviewed only after scrutiny of relevant documents. Eligibility of an applicant about qualification and experience shall be calculated/considered with reference to the last date of the receipt for application.
  5. The Institute reserves the right to screen and call only such applicants as are found prima-facie suitable for being considered by the Screening Committee. Thus, merely fulfilling the prescribed conditions will not automatically entitle one to be called for interview.
  6. The Institute reserves the right to rectify any discrepancy of this advertisement, if found later on. In case of any inadvertent mistake in the process of selection which may be detected at any stage even after the issue of letter of appointment, the Institute reserves the right to modify/withdraw/cancel any communication made to the candidate in this regard.

  8. The decision of BIT in all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance, rejection of the application, interview, verification of testimonials and selection will be final and binding on the applicants.
  1. The applicant will be responsible for the correctness of the information provided in the application. If it is found later that any information given in the application is incorrect / false, the candidature/appointment is liable to be cancelled/terminated.
  2. Interim correspondence will not be entertained or replied to. No correspondence whatsoever will be entertained from applicants regarding reason for not being called for interview/outcome of interview.
  3. Canvassing in any form will result in disqualification.
  4. Any dispute will be subject to adjudication by Courts/Tribunals having jurisdiction of Ranchi.
  5. The Institute will not be responsible for non-receipt of application(s) within the stipulated date due to any postal delay / loss of application / document sent in transit.

  1. Applicants must send their hard copy of CV, proof of payment, and Academic & Professional experience certificate and prescribed application form to “To The Registrar, BIT Mesra, Ranchi – 835215” and soft (scanned) copy of the same documents email to hr@bitmesra.ac.in on or before 21st August 2026. The subject should be “Application for the Post of Assistant Engineer (on contract)”.
  1. A nonrefundable application Fee of Rs. 1000/- + GST (Rs.180/-) is to be paid by each candidate. Payment may be made through the SBI online payment portal: on SBI COLLECT (https://www.onlinesbi.sbi/sbicollect/icollecthome.htm).
  1. Without submission of the documents mentioned above, the application shall not be considered.
