Overview
Established in 2005, the Department of Animation & Multimedia at Birla Institute of Technology (BIT), Mesra – Off-Campus Jaipur, is among India's top animation institutes funded by UGC, the Government of India. The department emphasizes on AVGC (Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming & Comics). With globalization reshaping the film, television, and digital entertainment industry, the demand for skilled professionals in animation, VFX, and digital storytelling is higher than ever. At BIT Jaipur, we bridge the gap between art and technology, providing students with a world-class curriculum covering 2D & 3D animation, multimedia applications, and digital design.

Infrastructural Facilities
The Department is equipped with a state-of-the-art computer laboratory, featuring over 40+ high-performance systems from brands such as iMac, Dell, and HP powered by Intel Core i7 processors to ensure seamless performance for graphic-intensive tasks. To provide students with hands-on practical experience, the labs are equipped with the latest versions of industry-standard software and tools relevant to animation, multimedia design, and digital content creation.
The software suite includes tools for:
2D & 3D Animation: Adobe Animate, Autodesk Maya, Blender, Graphic Design: Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Video Editing & VFX: Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Sound Editing: Adobe Audition, Audacity, Web Design & Development: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, WordPress, Adobe Dreamweaver, Multimedia Authoring: Adobe Flash, Unity (for interactive media and gaming).
This comprehensive infrastructure enables students to work on real-world projects, develop professional portfolios, and gain the practical skills necessary for a successful career in the animation and multimedia industry.
