Rajasthan AVGC-XR Summit (RAS) 2025
Birla Institute of Technology (BIT) Mesra, Jaipur Campus, in collaboration with the Rising AVGC-XR and Media Association (RAMA), successfully organized the Rajasthan AVGC-XR Summit (RAS) 2025 at Birla Auditorium, Jaipur, on 28 October 2025 to celebrate International Animation Day. The landmark event brought together industry leaders, policymakers, educators, entrepreneurs, creative professionals, and students to discuss the future of India's Creative Economy and the rapidly growing AVGC-XR sector.
The summit was organized in alignment with the Rajasthan AVGC-XR Policy 2024 and the Atal Innovation Acceleration and Studio Support (AISA) initiative. The event aimed to strengthen Rajasthan's position as a leading hub for Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, Comics, and Extended Reality (AVGC-XR) by promoting innovation, skill development, entrepreneurship, and industry collaboration.
The Rising AVGC-XR and Media Association (RAMA) envisioned the summit as a platform to connect talent, industry, academia, and government stakeholders while showcasing Rajasthan's growing capabilities in the creative technology sector.
India's Growing Creative Economy
India's creative economy is rapidly emerging as an important contributor to national development and is expected to contribute more than $100 billion to the country's GDP by 2030. Supported by initiatives such as the "Create in India" mission and the National AVGC-XR Task Force, the sector is creating new opportunities in animation, gaming, immersive technologies, digital design, and storytelling.
With technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Extended Reality (XR), and Gaming transforming industries including education, entertainment, healthcare, and tourism, India is becoming a global center for creative innovation. Rajasthan is also playing an increasingly important role in this transformation.
Summit Highlights
The half-day summit, held at Birla Auditorium, Jaipur, brought together more than 1,200 participants, including policymakers, industry leaders, investors, academicians, students, and creative professionals from across the country.
The summit featured insightful keynote sessions by renowned experts:
- Rajat Ojha, CEO of Gamitronics, spoke on "The Future is Real-Time: How XR is Reshaping Entertainment and Learning."
- Rajiv Chilaka, creator of Chhota Bheem, shared his journey in "Building the Billion Animation Brand."
- Mahavir Pratap Sharma, Co-founder of Rajasthan Angels, discussed "Investing in India's Creative Tech Renaissance."
- Ashwin Kumar from Kleem Productions presented insights into the making of the successful animated film Mahavatar Narsimha.
- Rasshi Agarwal explored the impact of Generative AI on the future of animation.
- Ishan Shukla shared his experiences from independent filmmaking to working on Star Wars: Visions.
The event also witnessed participation from ten state-level creative industry associations representing Telangana, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Punjab, Goa, Delhi, Gujarat, West Bengal, and Kerala, reflecting the spirit of national collaboration within India's creative ecosystem.
RAMA Awards 2025
One of the major attractions of the summit was the presentation of the RAMA Awards, which recognized outstanding contributions to India's creative and media technology sectors.
- RAMA Patron Award was presented to Rajat Ojha for taking Rajasthan's creative talent to the global stage.
- RAMA Legendary Mentor Award was conferred upon Dr. Vibhuti Pandya in recognition of his 25 years of dedicated leadership, teaching excellence, and mentorship that has inspired thousands of students in animation, design, and creative education.
- RAMA Young Achiever Award was awarded to Sonam Shekhawat, a BIT Mesra alumna and accomplished screenwriter, for her remarkable contributions to global animated storytelling.
These awards reflected RAMA's commitment to celebrating creativity, innovation, and mentorship within the AVGC-XR sector.
Rajasthan CreatoVerse
The summit also introduced the Rajasthan CreatoVerse, a unique experiential showcase that highlighted the creative capabilities of the state. The exhibition featured interactive installations, audio-visual experiences, digital artworks, and printed displays presented by studios, educational institutions, creative professionals, and RAMA members.
The CreatoVerse successfully demonstrated how art, technology, and storytelling can come together to create immersive experiences and inspire future creators.
Launch of RAMA Yatra
The event concluded with the grand launch of the RAMA Yatra, a statewide outreach and mentorship initiative designed to identify, nurture, and empower creative talent across Rajasthan. Through workshops, mentoring sessions, and industry engagement, the Yatra aims to create a strong talent pipeline for India's growing media and creative technology sectors.
Unveiling of "Rasyo" – Rajasthan's Creative Mascot
A special highlight of the summit was the unveiling of "Rasyo," Rajasthan's official creative mascot.
Designed as an AI-powered immersive camel, Rasyo symbolizes the blend of Rajasthan's rich cultural heritage and modern technological innovation. The mascot will represent Rajasthan's creative identity and serve as the face of future RAMA initiatives, including the RAMA Yatra and upcoming creative economy programs.
