The Department of Computer Science at BIT's Jaipur campus is well abreast of the latest developments in the area of IT, software development and hardware design and regularly incorporates the same in its academic programmes. The thrust areas for the department at present are the emerging fields of soft computing and applications, Artificial Intelligence, optimisation and control-based software, mobile application development, high-level multilingual search, Data mining, Big Data Applications, Cognitive Science & social networking, etc. The objective of various courses is to impart quality education through a curriculum in accordance with the challenging software needs of the industry and to provide excellent technical knowledge and computing skills. With an excellent knowledge base and technical competence, the department's students have an impressive placement record. Infrastructural Facilities
The department has eight high-tech computer laboratories with over 400 machines of IBM, Compaq, Dell and HP connected to the latest state-of-the-art servers and Core i7/i5 desktops. With the objective of giving the students adequate practical exposure, the department has the latest versions of all required software. The software available for Computer Science courses are NetSim, ESET, MS-Office, Windows Server 2012, Rational Rose, Oracle, Auto Cad, MATLAB, C, C++, Java, Python, and PHP.
