Celebration of National Science Day - 2023
National Science Day (28th February 2023)
National Science Day is celebrated every year in India to commemorate Raman Effect discovered by Dr. C. V. Raman on 28th February 1928. He received Nobel prize in Physics in 1930. The Department of Sciences, Birla Institute of Technology Mesra, Off-campus Jaipur has celebrated National Science Day on Tuesday, 28th February 2023.The focal theme of the program was taken as “Contributions of Indian Scientists”. Several scientific activities have been conducted in the campus including Science Quiz, Oral Presentations, Poster Presentations and Scientific Model Display etc. In these activities, along with students of BIT Jaipur Campus, several students from leading schools have also participated. This includes BVB Vidhyashram Pratap Nagar, St. Anselm’s Pink City School, Jayshree Periwal Global School and Malviya Convent School. Prof. P. J. John, Former Head and Director PG School of Life Science, Department of Zoology, University of Rajasthan, Jaipur was the Chief Guest & Invited Speaker of the program. He motivated students about science and its importance in society. Dr. Anand Kumar Srivastava, In-charge of Department of Sciences has introduced the audience about National Science Day. Dr. Peeyush Tewari, Director of BIT Jaipur Campus has introduced about many prominent Indian Scientists and motivated the students to carry out scientific activities. Winners of the various competitive scientific activities have been provided certificates.
