Celebration of the National Technology Day

Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, Ranchi, Off-Campus Jaipur organized a webinar on “Edge Computing & Enabling Technologies” under the Institution’s Innovation Council on 11th May, 2022 to celebrate the National Technology Day of India. The program started with the brief introduction of National Technology Day, history and its significance. Dr. Peeyush Tewari, Director (Actg.) of the BIT, Mesra, Off-Campus Jaipur shared his thoughts regarding the Technology and its positive usage. Dr. Madhavi Sinha, Incharge of the Department of Computer Science welcomed and introduced the speaker of the webinar,  Professor Mahesh Chandra Govil, Director, NIT Sikkim. Prof. Govil addressed the students and faculty member of the institute regarding edge computing. He explained the applications of edge computing in industry, agriculture and healthcare sector. He also explained that how edge computing help in developing Smart City and relevant applications. During his talk, he presented the key enabling technologies for edge computing like, EC Processor Architecture, Nanotechnology and Quantum Computing. He enlightened the students and the faculties with key research areas in the domain of edge computing such as resource management & scheduling, reliability, interconnected clouds, security & privacy, and networking.
