Programmes
The M.Sc. course curriculum is interdisciplinary in nature and designed to provide an in-depth knowledge in various aspects of Chemistry. The course offers students a broad theoretical background in Inorganic, Organic & Physical Chemistry, with prominence on Environmental & Analytical Techniques. Particular attention is given to industrial applications of chemistry so that students are completely equipped to face practical challenges in the technical field. Laboratory courses have been designed to provide an exhaustive and hands-on experience on working with various sophisticated instruments.
The emphasis of the Postgradate and Ph.D. programme is on Green Chemistry, elaborating the need for –
- Waste minimization
- Substitution of non toxic chemicals for toxic ones, and
- Increasing the use of semi-micro, micro and computational techniques.
The programmes include thesis/dissertation work giving students experience in solving real-life problems under the supervision of faculty.
