Objectives:

  • To design and develop an advanced AI-powered fashion trend prediction system that analyzes multi-source data (social media, fashion blogs, e-commerce platforms) to forecast upcoming trends in women’s clothing.
  • To build robust machine learning and deep learning models for real-time trend detection, sentiment analysis, and image-based style prediction.
  • To develop a personalized recommendation system that suggests clothing styles based on customer preferences, body types, and evolving fashion trends.
  •  To integrate a virtual try-on module using augmented reality (AR) technology, enabling customers to visualize outfits digitally before purchase, enhancing user engagement and reducing return rates.
  • To optimize inventory management and product design cycles by providing data-driven insights into trend dynamics, enabling faster response to market demand.
  • To support targeted marketing strategies through predictive customer behavior analysis and segmentation based on fashion trend adoption patterns.

Expected Outcome

  1. Development of an AI-powered fashion trend prediction system capable of analyzing large-scale, multi-modal data to forecast emerging trends in women’s clothing with high accuracy.
  2. Creation of a personalized recommendation engine that provides curated fashion suggestions based on individual customer profiles, preferences, and trend forecasts.
  3. Deployment of an interactive virtual try-on solution allowing customers to digitally try outfits, improving user experience and reducing product return rates.
  4. Enhancement of inventory planning and supply chain efficiency by aligning stock management with predicted demand patterns and fast-moving trends.
  5. Delivery of actionable insights for product design and targeted marketing campaigns, driving higher customer engagement and sales conversion rates.
  6. Establishment of a data-driven decision-support system for Aadikriti Apparels, improving agility in responding to dynamic fashion market demands.

Achievement:

Dr Shruti Garg delivered an invited talk titled "Transforming Trends: The Role of Artificial Intelligence in the Fashion Industry" at the National Conference on Statistical Methods and Applications in Interdisciplinary Areas, organized by the Department of Statistics, University of Delhi, held on 11–12 April, 2025.
