Call for Papers (June 2025 Issue)

We are inviting papers for the June 2025 issue. Please read the guidelines and make your submissions at editor.thealternative@bitmesra.ac.in

Last date of submission is 15th May 2025. 

1. Overview

A unique blend of theoretical knowledge and managerial relevance, ‘The Alternative’ rigours business improvements and manufacturing services. Its wide acceptance by many prominent academic scholars and practitioners has created high interest in best-in-class techniques and practices that promise improved world-class organizational performance.

2. Aims and Scope

Aim and Scope of the Journal

The journal aims to serve as a premier platform for the dissemination of high-quality research across all business domains. It encourages scholarly contributions that advance theoretical and practical knowledge through rigorous research methodologies.

The journal welcomes a wide range of research papers, including:

  • Literature Review Papers: Comprehensive analyses of existing research that identify gaps, trends, and future research directions.
  • Case Study Papers: In-depth examinations of real-world business scenarios, offering valuable insights and practical implications.
  • Action Research Papers: Studies that emphasize problem-solving and practical interventions within business settings, incorporating iterative feedback and real-world application.
  • Conceptual Framework Papers: Theoretical explorations and model developments that provide new perspectives on business challenges and opportunities.

All submissions must demonstrate a robust research methodology, ensuring academic rigor and practical relevance. The journal seeks to foster intellectual exchange among researchers, practitioners, and policymakers, contributing to the advancement of business knowledge and its application in diverse industries.

3. Submission to the journal

Authors are requested to send their papers to the following email ID:

\Before sending the paper, Authors are requested to create a folder containing the following files :

  1. Abstract: 200-250 words. (specifying: Purpose, Design/methodology, Findings, Originality).
  2. Manuscript: Anonymous WORD / PDF with no Author name anywhere throughout the paper. The length of the paper should be between 7000-9000 words (Including references, figures, tables etc)   
  3. Referencing: Use APA 7   
  4. Affiliation of all the Authors: Order must be mentioned.
  5. CV of each Author: Within 100 words
  6. Any other relevant information ( like company permission, case study permission, etc.)

Send all the files to the Editor’s mail ( as attachment).

4. Review process

The Editor reviews each paper, and if it is judged suitable for publication, it is then sent to at least two independent referees for double-anonymized peer review.

Based on their view, an article may be accepted or rejected. The Editor will make the final decision.

5. Copyright

Articles submitted to the journal should not have been published before in their current or substantially similar form or be under consideration for publication with another journal. Authors submitting articles for publication warrant that the work is not an infringement of any existing copyright and will indemnify the publisher against any breach of such warranty. For ease of dissemination and to ensure proper policing of use, papers and contributions become the legal copyright of the publisher unless otherwise agreed.

The Editor may use iThenticate / similar software to check the originality of submissions received before sending them to Reviewers.

6. Third-party copyright permissions

Before article submission, authors should have permission to use any content they have not created. Failure to do so may lead to lengthy delays in publication. The Editor cannot forward any article for review with permissions pending.

7. Author responsibilities

Our goal is to provide the author with professional experience at each stage of the review and publication process. Some responsibilities you have as the author are:

  • Respond quickly to any queries during the publication process.
  • Be accountable for all aspects of your work. This includes investigating and resolving any issues about accuracy or research integrity.
  • Treat any communications between you and the journal editor as confidential.
  • Please read about our research ethics for authorship. 
  • Before any decision is made, you may:

- Include anyone who has made a substantial and meaningful contribution to the submission (anyone involved in the paper should be listed in the acknowledgements).

   - Exclude anyone who hasn’t contributed to the paper or research.
