Summer Internship

[A]. Summer Internship/Training/Project Work

Internships are a vital part of the engineering curriculum, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. They provide students with hands-on experience in real-world settings, allowing them to apply classroom concepts to industry challenges. Internships enhance technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and professional communication, preparing students for the workforce. They also offer valuable networking opportunities and insights into various career paths, helping students make informed career decisions. Ultimately, internships make graduates more competitive in the job market, equipping them with experience that is often critical for securing full-time employment. Students are encouraged to pursue opportunities in industries, research labs, IITs, IISERs, and similar other organizations.
 
Students who require a Letter of Recommendation (LOR) from the department to apply for internships are requested to follow the guidelines below:

1. Identify Potential Organizations: Begin by identifying organizations where you would like to undertake training, project work, or an internship.

2. Request Required Documents: Once you've selected an organization, send a formal request via email to abharti@bitmesra.ac.in to obtain a Letter of Recommendation (LOR)/No Objection Certificate, or Bonafide Certificate. Sample letter formats (Format_1, Format_2, Format_3) are available, though some organizations may provide their own format. Verify which type of letter is required and fill in the necessary details. Include the organization's contact information, as well as the name and position of the person to whom the letter should be addressed, if specified. Students are advised to confirm the required format by consulting with the host organization.

3. Processing and Issuance: After submitting your request, the Department’s T & P Coordinator will process the letter and arrange for it to be signed by the Head of the Department.

4. Collection: You may collect the issued letter from the department office the next day between 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM.

5. Submission Post-Completion: Upon completion of your training, project work, or internship, submit the acceptance letter, training report, and a photocopy of the training certificate to the Department’s Training & Placement Coordinator.

[B]. The Department of Chemical Engineering, BIT, Mesra offers summer internships for 6th semester students of Chemical Engineering. Students need to apply directly to concerned faculty members expressing their willingness for summer internship with 5th-semester grade card. On successful completion to the satisfaction of the guide/faculty member, certificates will be issued to the students.

 

Note:

 1.     Summer Internship will be of 6-8 weeks (May to July).

2.     A few students may be paid stipend. 

3.     Only highly motivated candidates may apply.

4.     Hostel & Mess facility may be arranged on paid basis.
