Täzúrb-äġzä-e-färhäng Afghänì : Dastar ‘khwan at Deptt. of HMCT

The Hotel Management and Catering Technology (HMCT) department of BIT, Mesra, organized a Theme Food Extravaganza called: “Tazurb-agza-é-Farhang Afghani”. Held at Prayash, the training restaurant of the HMCT department, at 12:30 hours on the 14th of February, the event gave a classy twist to Valentine’s Day. The Afghani culinary culture was on full display as the students served up exotic Afghani dishes in an elaborately planned menu. The occasion was graced by the august presence of the Food and Beverage Manager and Executive Chef of Radisson Blue Ranchi, Executive Chef and Sales Executive of BNR Chanakya and was officiated by the Honorable Vice-Chancellor of BIT Mesra Dr. M. K. Mishra and Dean Student’s Welfare, Dean Academic Program and the R&D Coordinator of BIT Mesra.

Afghani setup inside Prayash

Celebrating the raw, tough and at the same time beautiful, culture of Afghanistan, this food fest ensured that all who attended, left with an ardent appreciation of the Afghani style of cooking. Everything from Shorba(soup) to kebabs to Gona’bah(meat dishes) were available to the guests. The traditional Afghan style of decorations of the party ensured that the mood was set for an afternoon of fervent admiration of the culinary skills of Afghanistan. All who attended were satisfied with their journey into the Afghani style of cooking.
