On Monday, November 14 , the young and budding talents of BIT flocked to the CAT hall for the final round of one of the most difficult contests in the campus-“BIT’s GOT TALENT”.The auditions for the same had been conducted on 9th and 10th of November in the Music Room and all interested students were welcomed to showcase their skills. The competition for the final place was a hard nut to crack and the students gave it all they had. The competition had three sections- Instrumental, vocals and dance.
The CAT hall was made ready to witness an extravaganza of the best talents in the field of music,dance and vocals. The judges namely, Shweta Ma’am, Mr. Kanhaiya Pathak and Mr. Basant Kumar, were introduced to the participants. Shobhna Dheemati, on the Hawaiian guitar, was the first participant. The audience relived the richness of music, each time the strings of Hawaiian guitar were plucked. Following this, the melody of mouth organ by Sanjan Chowdhary filled the hall.
Exhilarating performance by Anubhuti Alok and Ronit Ghosh on keyboard, jazzy tunes of guitar by Shubham Chakraverty and a brilliant duet by Aditya Sinha on Tabla and Sumit Kumar Singh on drums, enchanted the audience. Each of these performance set the bar even higher for the contest.Then, the anchors for the event- Samadrito Bose and Sumit Kumar Singh called upon the first performer of the vocals round. The soulful voice of Premankur Roy, heart melting performance by Barsha Bhattacharjee , thrills of south Indian classical music by R. Nivedhitha, elating performance by Sweta Jha and the beautiful voice of Sushila Murmu, mesmerized the audience. Samadrito Bose and Aditya Sinha spellbound the audience with their scintillating performances. Mahima Priyadarshani and Archana Pandey, the contestants selected later, then gave their melodious performances.
Following this, was the classical solo and group dance round. Shreya Banerjee, Divya Sharma and AkankshaDwivedi enthused everybody as they danced on the beats of classical music. Shreya and Group, and, Divya and group put up a beautiful show in the classical group round. Next up, was the non-classical group and solo dance round. The amazing performances by Akshay, Aman and Shreya Singh were highly appreciated. Medha and group, Tilak and group , The AA group and Akash and group gave electrifying performances.
After this, the audience witnessed some of the best performances of the evening which were not a part of the competition. Sudipto Bal left the audience awestruck with his amazing ghazal performance. Kanhaiya Pathak Sir and Mrinal Sir presented a magical Duet on Tabla and Harmonium respectively. All the participants performed out of their skins and tried to give their best. Mrinal Sir, then reminded the students about the cash prizes for the winners of each round of the contest-The three winners would be awarded rs.10,000,rs.7500 and rs. 5000 respectively. The event was clearly a massive success that brought out the best of talents in B.I.T. For everyone to witness.

The winners were awarded with certificate and corresponding cheques on the eve of 26th January. The Vice-Chancellor and the Dean Students’ welfare handed over the awards and congratulated the winners.The spirit of Republic day perfectly celebrated both patriotism and the gift of talents and versatility of the students of B.I.T.
