  Professional Background

Dr Manish Kumar Pandey is working as an Assistant Professor of Data Science at the Centre for Quantitative Economics and Data Science, Bira Institute of Technology, Mesra. He has more than 15 years of software development and research experience in the domain of Hyperspectral Data Analytics, Artificial intelligence applications in Finance, Healthcare, Vehicular domains, and Mathematical Optimization to build prediction models for diverse research projects. He obtained a doctorate in computer science in 2018. Before that, he had 3.6 years of experience in software development at Wipro Limited where he worked as a Project Engineer. This position has given him key employability skills while also allowing him to experience working in a professional and fast-paced work environment. During his tenure as Project Engineer, he worked for 3.6 years in software development and maintenance for key IT industry leader Cisco. He is Well versed in quality processes like Capability Maturity Model-Integration (CMM-I) and recognized with several awards for acting as a Team Player, Leader as well as for Best Project Delivery. The roles and responsibilities during his post-doctoral research experience included efficient analytics of hyperspectral big data in developing new programming models using artificial intelligence techniques that scale well at the hyperdimensional level. He also worked as Research Scientist B at DST - Mahamana Centre of Excellence in Climate Change Research (MCECCR) Institute of Environment & Sustainable Development Banaras Hindu University where he explored the benefits of A.I. in the areas of Climate Change. He has published 37 papers in International Journals, Conferences and Books.
