Dr. Sohini Ghosh serves as an Assistant Professor (Senior Grade) in the Department of Management Studies at the Birla Institute of Technology (BIT), Mesra, Patna Campus. With over 17 years of experience spanning academia and the corporate sector, she brings a unique blend of industry expertise and academic excellence to her role. Her extensive experience in corporate Human Resources enables her to effectively bridge the gap between management theory and industry practice, providing students with a comprehensive and application-oriented learning experience.
Dr. Ghosh holds a Ph.D. in Management from Birla Institute of Technology (BIT), Mesra, an MBA with a specialization in Human Resources (Major) and Marketing (Minor) from Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT, formerly WBUT), a Master's degree in Human Development from the University of Calcutta, and a Bachelor's degree (Honours) in Human Development from the University of Calcutta, with Food and Nutrition and Home Science Extension Education as elective (pass) subjects. Her teaching and research interests primarily encompass Human Resource Management and Marketing.
Specifically, she teaches core papers on- Business Research, Business Ethics and Sustainability, Qualitative Data Analysis as well as specialization papers on HR and Marketing.
Committed to academic excellence and curriculum development, Dr. Ghosh has played a significant role in revising undergraduate and postgraduate syllabi for core management courses and for specialization courses in Human Resource and Marketing. She has also contributed to the academic community by serving as a reviewer for reputed journals, evaluating contemporary research in her areas of expertise.
Deeply invested in student development, Dr. Ghosh actively mentors students under the structured Mentor-Mentee Programme introduced under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. As a research supervisor, she currently guides Ph.D. scholars and mentors numerous undergraduate and postgraduate research projects. Beyond teaching and research, she contributes extensively to institutional development by managing key administrative responsibilities and organizing national and international workshops, seminars, and conferences.
