(January 2012 – January 2013)

Key Contributions:

  • Organized structured training programs for drivers and support staff on road safety, emergency vehicle maintenance, and basic first-aid.
  • Designed a comprehensive career growth plan for departmental personnel, enhancing workforce development and operational professionalism.

2. Dean of Student Welfare

(January 2013 – April 2014)

Key Contributions:

  • Introduced a transparent and effective budgeting system for student activities across departments and societies.
  • Developed a centralized annual calendar of events for better coordination among student clubs.
  • Conceived and implemented a high-impact financial model for major student festivals like BITOTSAV and Pantheon, increasing the BITOTSAV budget four times without additional burden on university finances.
  • Strengthened the branding and visibility of student-led events, significantly enhancing institutional outreach.

  • Spearheaded the modernization of laboratory infrastructure, establishing advanced facilities including an induction furnace, vacuum casting, TIG/MIG/submerged arc welding units, and CAM labs equipped with NX-10 and MTAB systems compatible with FANUC, Siemens, and Heidenhain platforms.
  • Conducted skill development programs for technical staff to improve lab operations and support.
  • Successfully coordinated NBA accreditation for both undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
  • Initiated and led industry-academia collaboration projects with local MSMEs to implement automation solutions, fostering innovation and experiential learning.

Research Areas

Incremental Microforming

My research in this domain focuses on the deformation behavior of various sheet metals subjected to Single Point Incremental Forming (SPIF). A novel aspect of this work involves real-time monitoring and analysis of electromagnetic radiation (EMR) emitted during the plastic deformation process. By correlating EMR patterns with material flow behavior and geometrical complexity, this study aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of material response under non-traditional forming conditions. The insights derived are being utilized to develop predictive models using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) techniques, with the objective of improving the accuracy and efficiency of micro-sheet metal prototyping for advanced manufacturing applications.

Electro Discharge Machining (EDM)

This research focuses on micro-machining and reverse micro-machining using Electro Discharge Machining, particularly for hard-to-machine and advanced materials. The key parameters studied include material removal rate (MRR), surface quality, and thermal damage zones. A significant thrust area involves the development of EDM electrodes using rapid prototyping techniques. These electrodes are tested across various tool geometries to evaluate machinability, tool wear, and performance longevity. The overall aim is to advance the understanding of micro-EDM processes and improve their applicability in high-precision manufacturing domains such as biomedical devices, microfluidic systems, and aerospace components.

Sustainable Supply Chain Systems

In response to the growing need for environmentally responsible logistics, my research explores the design of sustainable and energy-efficient supply chains, especially for perishable commodities. This work is focused on the integration of green practices and energy metrics into traditional supply chain models. One of the pioneering outcomes of this research is the development of an Energy Value Stream Mapping (EVSM) framework, specifically tailored to the unique challenges of handling perishable goods in the Indian rural and semi-urban context. This research contributes toward building resilient, low-waste, and environmentally conscious supply chains, supporting both sustainability goals and rural development.
