Professional Background

Dr. Prince Kumar Maurya is an academician and researcher in the field of Finance, currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Management at Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra. He holds a Ph.D. in Finance from the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (an Institution of National Importance), where his doctoral research focused on investor sentiment, volatility connectedness, and hedging opportunities in financial markets. He also completed his MBA in Finance and Marketing from Aligarh Muslim University and a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Electronics from the University of Delhi.

Dr. Maurya brings a blend of academic and industry experience, having previously served as an Assistant Professor at Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies and worked as an Assistant Project Coordinator in the infrastructure sector. His teaching portfolio includes Financial Management, Corporate Finance, Investment Analysis and Portfolio Management, Financial Derivatives, and Cost & Management Accounting.

His research contributions are published in reputable international journals indexed in Scopus and ABDC, including Studies in Economics and Finance, Journal of Economic Studies, Qualitative Research in Financial Markets, Eurasian Economic Review, Journal of Cleaner Production, and International Journal of Consumer Studies. His research interests include Financial Markets, Financial Economics, Market Dynamics, Investor Sentiment, Behavioural Finance, Sustainable Finance, Sustainable Development Goals and ESG Investing.

In addition to teaching and research, Dr. Maurya actively contributes to academic administration and curriculum development. He is serving in roles such as NBA-NAAC coordinator and curriculum design coordinator and has been involved in organising academic conferences and faculty development initiatives.

He is proficient in advanced econometric and analytical tools, including R, STATA, EViews, Python, SPSS, and AMOS, and actively engages in interdisciplinary research aligned with emerging trends in finance and sustainability.
