Professional Background

Dr. Rewati Raman is an accomplished academic and researcher in the fields of architecture, urban design, and planning. He is  serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Architecture and Planning at Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, Ranchi.

Before joining BIT Mesra, Dr. Raman was part of the Department of Architecture, Planning, and Design at the Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University), Varanasi. His academic journey has been shaped by a rigorous foundation at the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, where he earned both his Ph.D. and Master’s degree in Urban and Rural Planning, followed by extensive postdoctoral research.

Dr. Raman’s expertise lies in sustainable architecture, climate-responsive planning, and resilient urban development. His research blends contemporary design strategies with traditional wisdom, focusing on innovative solutions for creating environmentally responsible and future-ready built environments. His scholarly work has been published in reputed journals and cited in policy discourses at national and international levels.

Known for his dynamic teaching style and student-centric approach, Dr. Raman fosters an environment of curiosity, collaboration, and innovation. He is widely regarded as a mentor who inspires students to think critically and creatively, extending learning well beyond the classroom.
