5-year Integrated M.Sc. Programmes 2019

Spot admission against vacant seats will be conducted for the following Integrated M.Sc. programmes at Mesra for the session 2019-20.

  1. Integrated M.Sc. in Chemistry
  2. Integrated M.Sc. in Food Technology
  3. Integrated M.Sc. in Physics

Interested and eligible candidates may report for spot counselling cum admission as per the schedule given below.

Date of reporting for Admission: 22nd July 2019

Venue:  Office of the Head of respective Department, BIT Mesra, Ranchi

Reporting Time: 9:30 am (Counselling will start from 10:00 am)

Pass in Class 12 / equivalent examination with English, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and having at least 60% (50% for SC/ST/PwD) marks in average of 4 subjects - English, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics

Integrated M.Sc. in Food Technology

Pass in Class 12 / equivalent examination with English, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and having at least 60% (50% for SC/ST/PwD) marks in average of 4 subjects - English, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics

Integrated M.Sc. in Physics

Pass in Class 12 / equivalent examination with English, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and having at least 60% (50% for SC/ST/PwD) marks in average of 4 subjects - English, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics

Notes:

  • Only those candidates whose date of birth falls on or after 1st October 1994 in case of General / OBC category and 1st October 1989 in case of SC/ST/PwD are eligible for admission. Date of Birth as recorded in the Secondary Education Board Class X (High School) certificate only will be considered as authentic.
  • Candidates with foreign diplomas should see the EdCIL website for equivalence (http://www.edcil.co.in), and if required should obtain an equivalence certificate from the evaluation division of the AIU (website http://www.aiuweb.org).
  • In case any Board awards grades instead of marks, the calculation of equivalent marks would be based on the procedure prescribed by board.
  • At the time of reporting for admission & document verification, selected candidates will be required to produce originals of Pass Certificate of Class 10, Marksheets of Class 10 and Class 12 showing requisite minimum marks, as well as Caste or Special Category certificates in proper format signed by appropriate authority (please see instructions).
  • At any level of the studies [Class X or Class XII], a candidate / applicant must have passed all the required subjects at that level from the same Board.

HOW TO APPLY

To apply for the above programmes against vacant seats, eligible candidates must download and print the Application Form  (please click on the link given below), and bring the completed form along with two recent colour photographs (one pasted on the form), originals and photocopies of all marksheets and certificates and a crossed Demand Draft of Rs.1,500/- (General/ OBC) and Rs.1,000/- (SC/ST) candidates (non-refundable) towards application fee in favour of “Birla Institute of Technology”, payable at Ranchi, and report as below**.

Note: Candidates, who had applied earlier for any of the programme but could not appear in the counselling or selected but could not join the programme, need not to fill fresh application form. However, they will be required to bring a photocopy of their old application form. 

**Eligible candidates should report in the office of Head of respective Department as per date & timings mentioned above with completed application form and all relevant certificates and documents in original, and one set of photocopies of each for Registration, and verification of documents.

Selection Procedures:

Selection will be made on merit based on marks obtained by the candidates in Class 12 / equivalent examination. If selected, candidates will be required to take admission on same day.

The provisional selection list will be notified by 4:00 pm on the day of counselling and provisionally selected candidates will be required to deposit the fees and complete the admission formalities by 6:00 pm on the day of counselling. It is therefore recommended that candidates should carry the requisite fees to be deposited at the time of admission.

Total fees payable at the time of admission:

Provisionally selected candidates will be required to deposit an amount of Rs.89,500/- (for detail, please see Institute website) by crossed demand draft in favour of “Birla Institute of Technology”, payable at Ranchi.

Candidates may also pay the admission fee online through State Bank Collect (for details, please visit Institute website www.bitmesra.ac.in).

In addition to the above, students will also be required to deposit Hostel Caution Money (One Time only - Refundable) of Rs.5,000/- and suitable mess advance at the beginning of each semester, which will be adjusted against their mess charges. For the July 2019 session, this mess advance will be Rs.20,000/- [total of Rs.*25,000/-]

*Hostel Caution Money (One Time only - Refundable) and Hostel Mess Advance (each semester) are payable by crossed Demand Draft in favour of “BIT Welfare Society” payable at Ranchi.
