Special Round of admission against vacant seats in

5-year Integrated M.Sc. in Chemistry, Food Technology, and Physics Programs 2018

Applications are invited from eligible candidates against few vacant seats in 5-year full-time Integrated M.Sc. In Chemistry, Food Technology, and Physics programs of the Institute for the session 2018-19.

Interested and eligible candidates may report for admission as per the schedule given below.

Date of reporting for Admission: 06 August 2018

Venue:  Office of the Head of respective Department, BIT Mesra, Ranchi.

Reporting Time: 9:30 am (Counselling will start from 10:00 am)

Pass in Class 12 / equivalent examination with English, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and having at least 60% (50% for SC/ST/PwD) marks in average of 4 subjects - English, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics

Integrated M.Sc. in Food Technology

Pass in Class 12 / equivalent examination with English, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and having at least 60% (50% for SC/ST/PwD) marks in average of 4 subjects - English, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics

Integrated M.Sc. in Physics

Pass in Class 12 / equivalent examination with English, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and having at least 60% (50% for SC/ST/PwD) marks in average of 4 subjects - English, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics

Notes:

  • Only those candidates whose date of birth falls on or after 1st October 1993 in case of General / OBC category and 1st October 1988 in case of SC/ST/PwD are eligible for admission. Date of Birth as recorded in the Secondary Education Board Class X (High School) certificate only will be considered as authentic.
  • Candidates with foreign diplomas should see the EdCIL website for equivalence (http://www.edcil.co.in), and if required should obtain an equivalence certificate from the evaluation division of the AIU (website http://www.aiuweb.org).
  • In case any Board awards grades instead of marks, the calculation of equivalent marks would be based on the procedure prescribed by board.
  • At the time of reporting for admission & document verification, selected candidates will be required to produce originals of Pass Certificate of Class 10, Marksheets of Class 10 and Class 12 showing requisite minimum marks, as well as Caste or Special Category certificates in proper format signed by appropriate authority (please see instructions).
  • At any level of the studies [Class X or Class XII], a candidate / applicant must have passed all the required subjects at that level from the same Board.

 

How to Apply:

To apply for the above programmes against vacant seats, eligible candidates must download and print the Application Form  (please click on the link given below), and bring the completed form along with two recent colour photographs (one pasted on the form), originals and photocopies of all marksheets and certificates and a crossed Demand Draft of Rs.1,770/- (General) and Rs.1,180/- (SC/ST) candidates (non-refundable) towards application fee in favour of “Birla Institute of Technology”, payable at Ranchi, and report as below**.

Note: Candidates, who had applied earlier for any of the programme but could not appear for the Entrance Test & Interview or selected but could not join the program, need to fill fresh application form. However, they will be required to carry a DD of differential fee of Rs. 270/- (General/OBC) and Rs. 180/- (SC/ST) towards GST charges and must bring a photocopy of their old application form. 

**Eligible candidates should report at the campus as per date & timings mentioned above with completed application form and all relevant certificates and documents in original, and one set of photocopies of each for Registration, and verification of documents at the office of Head of respective Department at Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, Ranchi.

Selection Procedures:

Selection will be made on merit based on marks obtained by the candidates in Class 12 / equivalent examination. If selected, candidates will be required to take admission on same day.

The provisional selection list will be notified by 5:00 pm on the day of counselling and provisionally selected candidates will be required to deposit the fees and complete the admission formalities by 6:00 pm on the day of counselling. It is therefore recommended that candidates should carry the requisite fees to be deposited at the time of admission.

Total fees payable at the time of admission:

Provisionally selected candidates will be required to deposit an amount of Rs.84,000/- (for detail, please see Institute website) by crossed demand draft in favour of “Birla Institute of Technology”, payable at Ranchi.

The candidate may also pay the admission fee through State Bank Collect by using the net banking or credit card payment of any nationalized bank. For detail, please see Institute website.  No partial payment shall be entertained.   

Candidates may also pay the admission fee online through State Bank Collect (for details, please visit Institute website www.bitmesra.ac.in).

Students will also be required to deposit Hostel Caution Money (One Time only - Refundable) of Rs.5,000/- and suitable mess advance at the beginning of each semester, which will be adjusted against their mess charges. For the July 2018 session, this mess advance will be Rs.20,000/- [total of Rs.*25,000/-]

*Hostel Caution Money (One Time only - Refundable) and Hostel Mess Advance (each semester) are payable by crossed Demand Draft in favour of “BIT Welfare Society” payable at Ranchi.

Registration will be done immediately after admission in the respective Department. Classes will commence from 7th August 2018.
