Birla Institute of Technology’s (BIT) Kolkata Campus was established in 1995. Having been in the academic arena for more than a decade now, this Centre offers academic programmes in two streams, namely: Computer Applications and Business Management. The college campus was shifted finally to Kasba on the south-eastern part of the city, after its presence in many areas of Kolkata. The Kasba Centre is well connected to the rest of Kolkata.
The campus includes a state-of-the-art computer laboratory, a well-equipped library and other up-to-date academic infrastructure.

The Centre conducts the following programmes:
  • MCA
  • BCA
  • BBA
  • M.Sc/PG Diploma in Bioinformatics
  • M.Sc Geoinformatics
 
Fast Facts

1995 – Campus established in Salt Lake
1998 – Campus was shifted to Theatre Road; MCA programme started
1999 - Campus extended from Theatre Road to Camac Street
2000 - Part time course in Masters of Computer Applications started
2002 – Started the Bachelor of Computer Applications Programme
2005 – Campus shifted to Kasba. Also BBA programme started
2006 – MSc programmes started in Bio Informatics and Geo Informatics were started
